What exactly is involved in moving portable buildings?
School is out for the kids, but that doesn’t mean everyone no longer has work to do. When the kids are away this is the time of year we are most busiest. Garcia J. Contractors are experienced portable building movers in the Austin, Texas area. We work very closely with the Austin Independent School District to get several portable school buildings moved quickly, safely, and always within the parameters of the deadline.
Moving portable buildings requires many steps and should only be attempted by expert portable building movers. First there is quite a bit of preparatory work that comes before the process of the move can get under way. Several permits need to be obtained from the city. The plot of land that the portable is planned to be moved on needs to have a topographic analysis done to make sure the land can support such a move.
The Process
Detatch
After all the preparation has been taken care of the next step is to detach anything that might hinder the move such as the plumbing, portable stairs, or ramp that may be attached to the structure.
Lifting
The portable building can now be lifted off its foundation by placing hydraulic jacks all around the building.
Secured
Once the portable has been lifted up a heavy duty trailer bed can then be hooked up to the portable so that the building can be transported.
Transport
During the actual move the safest and quickest route is taken during hours when traffic is at its lightest. The heavy duty moving truck will need police escorts on the front and back end of the moving envoy to insure the safety of the public as they are carefully relocating the building.
Re-Assemble
Upon destination arrival the portable can then be placed at it’s new site. The plumbing as well as pieces that were removed are then reassembled.
There are several moving parts in the process of relocating a portable building. The process requires advanced contact and planning with school portable movers. Contact Garcia J. Contractors and we can quickly begin the process and give you a very fair and reasonable quote.
